Michael qualified as a solicitor in 1982, having graduated from Nottingham Trent University and Lancaster Gate Law School. He joined Nockolds in 1983 and became a Partner in 1989. He now works with the firm as a Consultant for our Commercial Property department.
Expertise in Commercial Property
For the past few years Michael has been developing an increasingly large portfolio of fast-growing, local and regional property developers, providing them with all the necessary legal services in their acquisition and development of sites including planning and infrastructure agreements, and acting for them exclusively in their subsequent plot sales and sales of affordable housing. He works in a variety of commercial property matters and specialises in high value large-scale residential development. Michael has also trained a specialist team to provide clients with the very best comprehensive legal support.
Expertise in Charity Law
Michael advises on all governance issues that the trustees of a charity should consider, as well as any property issues that may arise. Michael has been Chair of Bishop’s Stortford YMCA and is currently Chair of Thorley Community Centre. He was formerly a member of the National Board of the YMCA, England.
Michael was recommended in the Legal 500 (2019 and 2020 editions) as heading up the commercial property team and specialising in high-value residential development mandates.
