National Minimum Wage and National Living Wage rates for April 2023

The Government has announced next year’s increases in the minimum wage and living wage.  From April 2023 these will be:

  • 23+ – £10.42 (previously £9.50)
  • 21-22 – £10.18 (previously £9.18)
  • 18-29 – £7.49 (previously £6.83)
  • 16-17 – £5.28 (previously £4.81)            
  • Apprentices – £5.28 (previously £4.81)

In addition the Government has announced that the rates for statutory maternity and paternity pay will increase to £172.48 and SSP will increase to £109.40/week.  The full list of revised payments can be found here.
