Why Implement a HR System into you Business?

By Helen Burrowes

Studies have found that automating processes can lead to increased business profit.

By automating business processes, this frees up time for your people to be utilised for their knowledge and experience.  This time is better served to support driving new business initiatives.

Having systems in place, in particular ‘HR Tech’ means that your HR team are compliant with law including GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation).  HR systems ensure that employee data is safely stored in one area and can be easily accessed.

HR systems are used to store:

  • Personal data
  • Documents and employment contract
  • Employee data including salary
  • Sickness absence
  • Performance
  • Book holidays

Businesses can report their employee data, using the reporting functionality.

Additional functionality includes:

  • Learning resources
  • Recording time and attendance
  • Recruitment processes including managing the candidate applications

The functionality of a HR system allows the business to record, track, monitor and update employee data throughout the employee lifecycle e.g. from recruitment through to exit.

Whilst spreadsheets have their purpose, this is not an ideal method of storing data, that can be open to error.  It is also very time consuming.  Why record holiday this way, when you can have a reasonably priced online system that enables you to assign holiday management to your management team.
