Dependency Claim After Jogger Killed by Car

This case was a dependency claim by the family of A, a highly respected entrepreneur and professor who was hit and killed by a car whilst jogging.

When A’s financial affairs were considered in detail it became clear that the value of the claim was significant.

Judgment was entered for the claimants and an application was made for permission to rely on a forensic accountant’s report. The report revealed that the family’s dependency should include income and dividends from A’s consultancy business as well as A’s considerable pension provisions.
