Brain Injured 11 Month Old – Significant Settlement

Substantial damages were secured for a client who had suffered a brain injury – after the previous solicitor had indicated that there would be a problem with causation and difficulty in securing a modest Interim Payment.

Master A was 11 months old when the car he was travelling in was involved in a head on collision with a coach, causing several fatalities and leaving Master A in need of lifelong care. After years of struggle, the first offer made by the defendants was for a seven-figure sum in full and final settlement. This was rejected. The case eventually settled for a larger sum – which means Master A will be able to enjoy a quality of life that seemed impossible at one stage.

Throughout the process, substantial interim payments were obtained in order to fund a first class rehabilitation package for Master A. He received physiotherapy, occupational therapy and speech and language therapy. As a result, Master A has grown in confidence and leads a happy and healthy life.

The case demonstrates the way our team operates, supporting clients and their families and running each case in accordance with the needs of the client.
