Whilst I did not expect to begin my training contract during a global pandemic, the experience has nonetheless been great so far. Life at Nockolds is warm, welcoming, and extremely friendly with the flexible working from home and social distancing not affecting this. Working during a pandemic has been tricky for a lot of people and many businesses have had to change and adapt to accommodate the ever-changing restrictions and guidelines. Nockolds’ atmosphere has remained positive and, in my opinion, has been unaffected as from my interview in October 2019 to now, I still feel welcome, comfortable and upbeat and this is due to the culture, atmosphere and employee’s here at Nockolds.
Nockolds upholds the work and social life balance and whilst Covid-19 has restricted in-person activities, Nockolds has continued to host virtual events such as cocktail-making and bingo. This has been great for me as a new employee to meet my colleagues and become involved in work socials.
Joining the firm during a pandemic when working from home was still strongly advised, I did not know what to expect. However, Nockolds remained very cautious of the restrictions in place and have adjusted to ensure all staff feel comfortable working in the office and government guidelines still adhered to. Nockolds’ adjustments to Covid-19 have allowed me to work in the office daily to receive the support and assistance needed to expedite my training.
Although I am only three months into my first seat, the knowledge and experience gained across a wide range of matters has been astonishing and this is due to the hands-on training and support from not only my supervisor, but all members of my team.
