On Thursday 13th September, 11 brave members of staff at Nockolds Solicitors took part in the highest freefall abseil in the UK to raise money for the brain injury charity, Headway.
Suspended in the air at around 262 feet, each participant experienced breathtaking views of the City as they scaled the UK’s tallest sculpture – the ArcelorMittal Orbit in Stratford.
Rachel Davis, a member of our Personal Injury and Medical Negligence Team, and the organiser of this daring challenge said: ‘It was a terrifying and amazing experience all at the same time, and definitely something that I won’t forget. We all feel very proud that we completed this challenge to raise money for such a fantastic charity’.
Nockolds has arranged and taken part in a number of events for Headway Hertfordshire, as its Charity of the Year 2017-18; including an incredibly popular Bingo Night, the Great Nockolds Bake Off and an Easter and Christmas raffle.
The abseil, which was originally meant to be taking place in June but postponed due to bad weather, raised a total of £2,162; bringing the total amount raised for Headway to an incredible £6,027.
Headway is a UK-wide charity that works to improve life after brain injury. Through its network of more than 125 groups and branches across the UK, it provides support, services and information to brain injury survivors, their families and carers, as well as to professionals in the health and legal fields.
