Following a successful year of fundraising for Steph’s Wishes, Nockolds Solicitors is delighted to announce that it’s Charity of the Year 2019-20 is Dementia Adventure.
Dementia Adventure is an Essex-based charity that works nationally to arrange short breaks and holidays for people with dementia and their friends and family.
The charity’s mission is to enable people living with dementia to get outdoors, connect with nature, themselves and their community, and retain a sense of adventure in their lives.
Alongside this, Dementia Adventure works with the family and friends of those with dementia, as well as organisations, to provide training and consultancy services to equip them with the skills and confidence to give people greater choices and live better with dementia.
Elena Nicolaou, a member of Nockolds’ Charity Committee, said: ‘We’re delighted to be supporting Dementia Adventure this year. It’s a fantastic charity and we’re looking forward to working with them to help make a difference to those living with dementia, their friends, family and carers.’
Nockolds is dedicated to supporting the local community, and every year staff at the firm vote to select a charity to support, helping to raise funds through a number of events such as quiz and bingo evenings, bake sales and raffles.
Not a company to shy away from a challenge, employees at Nockolds have also undertaken several fundraising challenges, including an epic 45-mile walk along the Norfolk coastal path, an abseil down the ArcelorMittal Orbit in Stratford and the British Heart Foundation’s London to Paris Cycle Ride.
