Throughout 2017-18, Nockolds Solicitors has been tirelessly fundraising for its Charity of the Year, Headway. At the end of the year, the firm is proud to announce that it has raised over £3,865.
Headway is a UK-wide charity that works to improve life after brain injury. Through its network of more than 125 groups and branches across the UK, it provides support, services and information to brain injury survivors, their families and carers, as well as to professionals in the health and legal fields.
Nockolds has arranged and taken part in a number of events for Headway; including an incredibly popular Bingo Night, the Great Nockolds Bake Off and an Easter and Christmas raffle. The firm has also participated in ‘Dress Down Friday’ on the last Friday of every month in which staff members donate £2 to wear casual clothing in the office for the day.
Vicky Tassell, a member of the firm’s Charity Committee said: ‘We are so pleased to have raised this much money for such a fantastic cause. The work Headway does is so important in helping those who have survived brain injuries and their families, friends and carers.’
‘Alongside this, we are still raising funds for our Charity Challenge of the Year in which a team of us will be abseiling down the AcellorMittal Orbit – which will be donated to Headway UK. After this event the total looks to rise to around £6,000 which is a fantastic achievement, and one that we are very proud of.’
The team of 10 staff members will be participating in the UK’s highest freefall abseil and experience a view of London at 262 feet above the City. The rescheduled date for this challenge has been set for Thursday 13th September 2018.
