Nockolds Ranked 9th in the Best Companies to Work For in the East of England 2019

Nockolds is delighted to announce that the firm has been ranked 9th in the Best Companies to Work For in the East of England 2019. This follows the recent success at the Sunday Times 100 Best Small Companies to Work for awards evening where the firm achieved position 43 and was the only law firm ranked in this year’s list.

The list of the Best Companies to Work For in the East of England represents the 75 organisations with the highest Regional Best Companies Index (RBCI) scores. Using the Best Companies b-Heard Survey, employees are asked to score 70 questions on a 7 point scale from ‘Strongly Disagree’ to ‘Strongly Agree’. The results are then calculated and the final score is normalised for company size band and calculated out of 1000. The Best Companies survey has been specifically developed to help employers better understand today’s complex workplace issues and how they relate directly to their own organisation. 

Highlights of this year’s report included: 

96% of staff agreed: I have confidence in the leadership skills of the senior management team – ‘Managing Partner Darren Hayward has an infectious enthusiasm and optimism for the growth and stability of the firm. He is approachable, open and honest, while all staff are encouraged to speak to him about any issues they may have, which he will deal with as quickly as possible.’

85% of staff agreed: I am happy with the balance between my work and home life – ‘The firm offer a health scheme, which is fully paid for and includes telephone counselling. The firm is very supportive in ensuring that all staff have a good work/life balance and working hours and workload are constantly monitored to ensure that staff have a balanced workload.’

99% of staff agreed: My organisation encourages charitable activities –‘Nockolds is in partnership with a local rugby team and gets involved with their events throughout the year, from attending weekly matches to hosting tournaments for children interested in taking up rugby as a sport. The business also run regular careers talks at local schools to offer career advice to pupils.’
