Non-EU nationals will need to apply for a Tourist Visa when travelling to Spain. If these citizens are living in the UK, they can apply for the Visa through the Spanish Consulate in London.
In cases related to sponsored trips, the applicant, among other documents, must submit:
- A notarised sponsorship letter signed and dated. This letter must be signed by the person who is sponsoring the trip before a Notary Public in the UK. The person sponsoring the trip will be an EU national and, in the letter, will confirm that he or she is sponsoring the trip and will give details about the person sponsored and about the trip (dates, accommodation…).
- An employment letter issued by the employer of the person sponsoring the trip. This letter must confirm the employee’s details such as job title, salary, type of contract…
An official translation into Spanish of both documents stated above must be submitted together with the aforesaid English documents when applying for the Visa at the Spanish Consulate.
The purpose of a sworn translation is to confer the translated document the same legal value as the original document by providing it with international legal validity

Traducción jurada de documentos para solicitar una visa española
Los ciudadanos no comunitarios necesitarán solicitar una visa turística cuando viajen a España. Si estos ciudadanos viven en el Reino Unido, pueden solicitar la visa a través del Consulado de España en Londres.
En casos relativos a viajes patrocinados, el solicitante, entre otros documentos, debe presentar:
- Una carta de patrocinio notariada. Esta carta se debe firmar por la persona que patrocina el viaje ante un Notario Público en el Reino Unido. La persona que patrocina el viaje será un ciudadano comunitario y, en la carta, confirmará que está patrocinando el viaje y dará información relativa a la persona que está patrocinando y al viaje (fechas, alojamiento…).
- Una carta de empleo emitida por la empresa que emplea a la persona que está patrocinando el viaje. Esta carta debe confirmar información relativa al empleado tal como el puesto de trabajo, el salario, el tipo de contrato…
Se debe presentar una traducción jurada al español de los dos documentos mencionados junto con los documentos originales ingleses al presentar la solicitud de la visa en el Consulado de España.
El objetivo de la traducción jurada es conferir al documento traducido el mismo valor legal que el documento original, dotándolo de validez legal internacional.
