Workplace Mediation

Mediation can be one of the most effective and successful ways of resolving workplace conflict.  Where disputes in the workplace are not resolved quickly they can escalate into complicated grievances and then potentially lead to legal claims.

What is Workplace Mediation?

Workplace mediation supports both parties to resolve the conflict.  This facilitative process encourages talking between the parties to resolve a workplace dispute.

A third party workplace mediator (chosen for their impartiality) facilitates the conversations between the parties that are in dispute, to help the parties resolve the dispute and come to a mutually satisfactory agreement.

The mediator will focus on the needs and interests of the parties in this confidential and voluntary process.

The mediation process allows both parties to contribute into the discussions, to listen, and express their views including relaying their feelings, and what matters to them the most.  Having this reflective discussion enables both parties to feel listened to, understood, and treated with dignity.

The outcome of mediation is an agreement between the parties outlining what they intend to focus on outside of the mediation meeting.
