Family mediation is usually seen as a way to resolve issues once a couple has separated, whether the issues are children or financial.
Mediation can also be used when a couple are still together.
A couple can have issues which they need to resolve together, for example parenting arrangements, decisions about schooling, financial decisions, or inheritance planning. These issues are best looked at in mediation, rather than in other arenas, such as relationship counselling, which is more suitable in looking in depth at long-term issues in a relationship.
Mediation can also be useful parallel to relationship counselling, to give you an idea of what could happen should you choose to separate.
At Nockolds we have several mediators with a wealth of experience in dealing with issues through mediation.
Zen Thompson is an accredited family mediator and has dealt with many cases of family mediation, both before and after separation. Zen offers mediation both at our Bishop’s Stortford office (near Stansted) and our London office (next to Liverpool Street Station).
